Jainism
Jainism is one of the oldest religions of India. 'Jain Dharma' means 'the religion promoted by Jin'. Those who are followers of 'Jin' are called 'Jains'. The word 'Jin' is derived from the root 'Ji'. 'Ji' means - to win. 'Jin' means the winner. Those who have conquered their mind, their speech and their body and have attained omniscience or perfect knowledge by attaining specific knowledge are called Jineshwar or 'Jin'. Jainism means the religion of 'Jin' God.
According to Jain texts, Jainism was originated by Rishabhdev Adinath, the first Tirthankara of this period. Many references to the very antiquity of Jainism are abundant in non-Jain literature and especially in Vedic literature. Jains believe in God who is the knower seer of the all-powerful Trilok but not the doer of Trilok.

principles of Jainism
There are 5 basic principles of Jainism.
Nonviolence:
Giving the first basic principle of life, Lord Mahavir has said 'Ahimsa Paramo Dharma'. The essence of all life is contained in this non-violence; We can integrate this into our normal routine by following 3 essential policies (1) physical non-violence (not to hurt), (2) mental ahimsa (not thinking bad), (3) intellectual ahimsa (not hating).
truth
To choose the right from the right and the wrong, choose the eternal from the eternal and the fleeting.
Acharya
We worldly beings do not fully understand by our common intellect the 'Achaurya Mahavrata' of Lord Mahavir given from the elevated peak of consciousness. Not stealing the things of others has been considered as its meaning, but the Lord cannot give such a shallow message from His fully awakened Kevaljnanamaya state. There is another deeply influential dimension of this Mahavrata.
celibacy
When a man chooses the right from the right and the wrong and rises above the impermanent body-mind-intellect and settles in the eternal form, as a result he returns to the center point of his blissful self which is called 'brahmacharya'.
aparigraha
One who becomes aware of the nature and lives life without considering body-mind-intellect as his own, his external routine looks restrained, the sense of non-possessiveness is visible in every stage of life and that grand soul on the path of Lord Mahavira. follows up.
Seven principles
nine substances
Jiva and Ajiva, according to Jain texts, are the two main substances. Asrav, Bandha, Samvara, Nirjara, Moksha, Punya, Sin are the distinctions of non-living matter.
Three gems
char kashay
Anger, pride, delusion and greed are the four Kashayas, due to which the karma is shed.
four speed
There are four movements in which the birth and death of a worldly creature take place- Dev speed, Man's speed, Tiryancha speed, Hell speed. Moksha is also called the fifth speed.
